感恩節當天如果要出門購物，記得先來確認這份清單！許多知名店家，包含：Walmart、Target、Best Buy、Kohl’s、Macy’s 等，在今年感恩節當天都不會開門營業。有些店家就算營業，也會縮短營業時間。
由於受到州際法律規範，緬因州、麻州和羅德島州的商店在感恩節當天都不會開。其他州部分地區的商店，也會因為受到郡法的影響，而更改營業時間。
值得注意的是，知名零售商 Target 於週一宣布，以後感恩節當天將永遠不營業。零售研究公司 Retail Metrics 的總裁柏金斯（Ken Perkins）指出，Target 的宣言可能讓更多零售商決定效法，因為許多公司應該都在思考，在越來越多消費者轉往網路消費的同時，是否還需要花費如此多的金錢和人力在感恩節當天營業。
