星期日下午，位在密蘇里州的堪薩斯城（Kansas City），一名拒捕的嫌犯舉起步槍，射傷了3名警力。最後以警方射殺該名嫌犯，結束了這場槍戰。
堪薩斯城警察局局長表示，警方已追捕嫌犯差不多一小時，不只關閉了高速公路的出口，同時也出動直升機，直到追蹤他到一間在汽車旅館旁的房子。

當警方在汽車旅館外與嫌犯對峙時，嫌犯開槍傷及2名警員並逃逸。在轉瞬之間，雙方開火，在此時第3名警員受傷。目前受傷的3名警員都無生命危險。
局長進一步表示，這名嫌犯與另外一案有關—被槍殺的印度大學生。但局長並沒有公布該名嫌犯的姓名等細節。
