總統川普曾一度盛讚哈雷機車（Harley-Davidson）為「美國真正的標誌」。
然而，由於美國要加徵進口商品關稅，哈雷機車因而計畫將生產線外移，有些用戶便說，將會抵制哈雷機車。川普發推特表示支持抵制行為，並譴責哈雷，期許將來美國會是一個更公平的競爭環境。

哈雷的外移計畫，是將預計賣向歐盟的機車生產，轉移到其他海外工廠。起因是美國政府對歐盟國家加徵的鋼鋁關稅。哈雷表示，每台寄送到歐盟的機車將會增加 2,200 美金的成本。
哈雷在美國境內銷售的機車，皆是在美國生產製造，公司表示未來也不會改變。哈雷執行長 Matthew Levatich 在 7 月 30 日受訪時說，哈雷仍傾向從美國供應機車到全世界。
